Psychotherapy aims to help people heal, strengthen, and develop into the best version of themselves.
Collectivistic Background
You know the phrase, "it takes a village to raise a child," well, that statement was my upbringing. Each family member played a role in my development and understanding. So, I believe in the support of others and the immense impact it has on a person's well-being.
Military Experience
In March 2014, I joined the Army to challenge myself mentally and physically. I had an experience like no other. I completed my 8-year military contract in March 2022, consisting of active duty and reserves.
Furthermore, in 2016, I was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, and this information gave me a deeper understanding of myself and a chance to learn how to manage my symptoms. Moreover, I was diagnosed in the military, which influenced my awareness of mental health stigma. As a result, I have a profound understanding and compassion for those who experience problems relating to their mental health.
Systemic Approach
The systemic approach to mental health has provided an alternate perspective in viewing a problem that does not isolate an individual but examines their whole system. I am mindful of the various influences, such as cultural and societal, that impact mental health stigma and become barriers to seeking treatment. I work with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I utilize a collaborative approach using techniques from various theories, such as dialectical behavioral therapy, contextual family therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
Foundation for the Advancement of Human Systems

I am a three-term fellow in the Foundation for the Advancement of Human Systems (FAHS) Minority Fellowship Program, consisting of consecutive terms as a Master’s fellow for one year and a Doctoral fellow for two. This program is dedicated to expanding the delivery of culturally competent mental health and substance abuse services to underserved minority populations and increasing the number of culturally competent Couples and Family therapists.
Meet my Pups
It’s important to share what brings us joy and happiness.
These two are beautiful blessings in my life.
-
The sassy affectionate pup who loves adventures and treats.
-
The sensitive, playful pup who loves toys and being with his family.
